Thinguellier, the worlds first parlament, located in a beautiful national park. Geysir the biggest of Icelands famos hotsprings. Hveravellir hot springs were you can take a bath., in ancient times this area hig up in the Highlands was the home of many criminals . You can still visit the ruins of the houses. and caves they lived in.We will spend the night in a .guesthouse in the Skargafjördur area. Where you will have free time to explore the nature, go for a hike or just relax in a hot spring
After Breckfast we will go horse riding till lunch. After lunch we will take off to Laugarfell a mountain hut in the Black lava dessert.. Take a walk between glacers and vulkanos, watsch two glacier rivers cross or just relax in a natual hot spring.Refreshments are served during the day and a Iclendic dinner is waiting for you in the evening.
After breakfast we will be heading towards Vatnajökull , we will drive through the pass black sand dessert, drive across (brideless) rivers and on Gaesavatnaleid,the toughfest road Icelands., until we reach Askja were we will spend the night in tents. For dinner we will have a real Icelendic barbecue.
After breakfast we will drive to Herdubreid ,an oasis in the black desert , visit its beautifull lava formations. Next stop will be Namaskard a geothermal hot spring area with its mud pools. We will pass europas largest bird sanctuary at lake Myvatn, and Dimmuborgir the mystical lava park. After a short visit in Akuarery we will finaly arrive in a hotel in Skargafjördur. There you will have again some free time and dinner.
After breakfat we will drive to Merkigil ,galacier river canyon, and visit the skargafjördur country side. After lunch you can choose eather go to the Glaumbær torf house museum, there you will see how islandic people lived in the old times or you can go deep see fishing and visit the island of Drangey. After a funn day we will drive back to Rejkyavik.
